*sigh* I have two icons I want to show off...but both are too big. I have them the right size - 100 x 100, but the file is too big, over 40k. I'm not sure how to ocmpress them. They are animated...so maybe it has to do with how many frames I have? I've figured out how to make the animation not so quick. Grrrr.

yes, its how many frames you have.
Take a few out until you get it under 40k

Sometimes even decreasing the number of frames isn't enough. Usually it will work, but not always. For example, this icon:

I needed it to have the number of frames that it has or it would look more jumpy than it already does. To make the file size smaller I had to shrink the image down to even less than 100 X 100 pixels, turn it black and white, and decrease the image quality. Decreasing image quality will do the trick for compression, but the more you decrease it, the crappier it will get. You'll start getting little dots on the image and such.
