I've heard some different ones that I like a bit better.

BMW - Break My Windows
Ford - Fucker only runs downhill (A real, true story behind this one, which is why I really like it)
OLDSMOBILE - Old Ladies Driving Slowly Macking Others Be Inexplicably Late Every-day.
BUICK - Big, Ugly, Import Car Killer

And for your friend:
Mercedes - Mechanially Excellent Real Cars Every Driver Envies Sight
Benz - Because Engineers (k)Now Zen.
Mercedes-benz - Masterfully Engineered, Rarely Crash, Every Driver's Envy. Speedy Because Engineers Need Zip!

*knock on wood* I've had absolutely no problems with my Ford. This could be because it's mostly a mazda, but still.

And the story I was talking about, is about the Model T, (first ford/car ever made, in case you didn't know). The car itself was made out of plywood, and was really light. The engine, however, was heavy as hell. So if you came to a steep hill, you'd have to turn around, and drive up the hill backwards. Otherwise, the car would flip. So, the fucker, quite litteraly, only ran downhill.

Re:
mine just broke down all the time. Blerg. I sold it when the wheel bearing was about to come off and the brake system in its entirety needed replacing.
