Its been a long time since I've been to a drive-in. I didn't really care for how this one was set up...there's nothing about not having the hatches on cars or trucks open until you get to the door of the concession stand. Grrr. Also, the trucks can part *anywhere* which makes it difficult for those of us with little cars. The ones in Kent, the trucks are only allowed to park where there are yellow poles - which are to the sides, very front and back. The lot is sloped so that you can see over them. The screens are also angled better so that everyone can see. We ended up near the back and to the side of the screen this time...still, it wasn't so bad, and it was better than having part of the screen blocked by a flippin' truck.
Despite the minor irritations with the set up of the place, it was a blast to go. I look forward to going again soon, though I think next time we'll go really early to get a choice spot...especially if we have my car. I love that you can take your own snacks and drinks...we even ate dinner there at the drive-in. We got some sandwhiches from the grocery store..much cheaper. I also like the fact that I can bring the baby with me...cheaper in that I don't have to find a babysitter. That in itself is good....especially since we'd have to drive all the way to Seattle for a free sitter! It was nice to have the baby sleep on my chest during a movie too...he's so warm and cuddly! I was surprised that he was pretty quiet througout the whole thing.
Pan went over to the ranch with my mom. They left Friday after Pan got home from school and are due to return sometime today. So far, I'm just enjoying the quiet. We got up late this morning...well, he did...I've been up off and on with the baby since about 7 am. Still, its been a nice relaxing day over all, which is good. I've gotten the chance to roleplay some online. That's been a bit sketchy over the last few days, really.
Kyros and David went next door to the thrift shop and brought home a battery operated swing for Garrett. I love it! It stops sometimes, and you have to watch it because you can still hear it and it sounds like its swinging. But, that's okay....I still like it better than the old one we have. That one you have to wind, which isn't so bad..except that it doesn't last long and Garrett wakes up each time it stops. That and because only one side has a brace, its a little off balance. The seat in this 'new' one is laid back a little more, so the poor little guy isn't all hunched forward and looking like he's gonna fall out. Much more comfortable, I'm thinking. We'll bring the other one to mom's house so he can have a swing there. Thank you thank you thank you!!
