The kids are adjusting well to me working again, which is good. I was a little worried about Jae, since she seems to be going through this 'mommy only' stage. Garrett gets a little grumpy, but I've been able to see him before he goes to bed. I like playing with him then too :) I miss them when I'm gone, but I'm glad to be getting out of the house on a semi-regular basis.
I meant to go to Third Place books last night for the weekly get together, but by the time I got off work, I was tired. That, and I hadn't really made firm plans with R. I wasn't up for attending on my own. Haven't gotten quite that brave in my endeavers to come out of my shy shell. But, I shall make plans for next week. I'll have my new schedule today, so I'll see if I'm able to go. Working nights means I may not be able to make one for awhile.
Over the weekend, mom and I went to the sewing expo. There were a lot of people around...who knew something like that would be so popular? Go figure. I'm not the sewer in the family, so I went mostly for 'support'. Lo and behold, I found some toys to bring home. Funny that. Mom bought me a knitting loom that's akin to spool knitting. Its pretty neat, really. I can do hats and scarves with it. I'm sure I can find other things too....someone said that they've seen legwarmers made on the round ones. Sunday night, after coming home, I managed to make a little baby hat. In one night! Go me! Of course, I didn't finish it right, so it came partially unravelled. I'm not sure how to fix it, so I've just sorta let it be. I'm working on a new hat, but I haven't put in the few hours it takes to finish it yet. I've been working on it at work. Still, I've gotten pretty far...almost time to double it over and do the brim.
That's pretty much life in my corner of the world for the moment.
