I have decided to do a daily card, if I remember to do it. I need to draw it in the morning before work and keep it in mind during the day. When I get home I can post about it. No better way to get to know the cards, or see the patterns. I can post my own observations as well as meanings I find on the web and such.
From Aeclectic Tarot:
New luck, health or money for a new "job". There is no desire to burn, or flow or fly; here is a physical need to be grounded, to do solid work, make, create and touch. Like a seed in the ground, there is a desire to sprout roots and just become. The pentacle is taken in hand, and, for now, the querent wants only to have it solidly in his pocket
The Ace of Pentacles is the foundation for all kinds of projects in the real world; this foundaton is as valuable as gold, and as solid as concrete. It is the cornerstone of a building that might stand for decades, or crumble to dust after a few years - this is determined by how the rest of the structure is put together. The Ace of Pentacles is not the promise of long-lasting financial and material security that some might expect, but it is the sign that such things are within your reach. It gives you the resources to go in search of higher goals.
The appearance of this card is usually the sign of a turn for the better in terms of fortune and wealth, and sometimes it can even indicate gifts of money, or inheritance from unexpected sources (hence the coin appearing from "thin air"). This gift does not have to be money of course; any kind of gift that has value to both the giver and the receiver can be indicated by the Ace of Pentacles. In particular, the card often refers to wedding rings and proposals of marriage, which may seem out of place in the Pentacles suit until you realize that such proposals are the solid foundation upon which the castles of love must be built.
The Ace also represents the fertile soil in which ideas can be planted to grow and mature. This will be a slow growth, as the Pentacles never move at a fast pace, but the success of the harvest is practically assured. The only caveat is that the Pentacles suit demands a realistic outlook. If you want to succeed, start now - it is not the time to dream and fantasize when there is work to be done! Forget flourish and dramatics, because hard work is the only thing that is going to produce results when the Ace of Pentacles is afoot. Keep your feet firmly planted in the Earth and let your common sense (and your intuition) guide you to success.
More often than not, the realms of material and spiritual wealth are mutually exclusive, and in some cases they are in fact detrimental to one another. But on the Ace of Pentacles all types of wealth are portrayed, and though the material world is certainly in full view, most cards feature a gateway or a passage into the more spiritual realm far in the background. The Rider-Waite is typical of this; through the gap in the hedges we can see the cold white mountains of abstract and spiritual thought. You can achieve spiritual peace through material means, if you knows the path.
Ill Dignified or Reversed - Greed, dependence upon physical pleasures for happiness, avarice, miserliness, materialism. Lack of imagination and fear of death.
I have come to adopt the attitude that a reversed card is something that isn't being tapped, or something that's working in the background. Perhaps it means the opposite of it's upright meaning as well - the variations are endless, and what I read sometimes depends on feel or situation too.
None of the meanings I posted fit what I got, really. Aces are often times the beginning of something and the fact that it's reversed says that something is waiting to begin - but not yet. Maybe it's something I was thinking about and this is caution to wait instead of throwing caution to the wind. Pentacles usually has to do with money or material things - well, actually, anything on the material realm.
Today has gone fairly well. I finished a transcript that I was concerned would not get done. I got my speed up, today I was at 15/16 pages all day. I have to be at 12 pages per hour to be paid per page. I was thinking that may happen soon, but I do want to wait a little before going to boss man. There's been a lot to contemplate on the romance side as well, though nothing is resolved there. I don't expect it to be for a little bit.
The one thing that's directly money related worked out well - for the best, I think. Over the weekend, we took the carseats out of mom's car (I'll post about the weekend soon) to make room for the birds. When we got home, they weren't on the porch anymore. Mom thought maybe one of my uncles took them to be donated because they were near the huge pile of donation items. Until this evening after I got home, I expected to have to buy new car seats for the kids because we hadn't heard back. Fortunately, the seats were moved to the garage. I could have purchased the seats tonight, but my funds would have been even tighter than they already are. We have decided to get the kids high backed boosters, but I can buy them one at a time now and take my time considering which brand/model to buy, too.
At any rate, it seems I'm being cautioned to wait. What I'm supposed to be waiting on, I'm not entirely sure.
