I weighed in this morning at 240.8. I've -gained- a pound by getting off my ass and walking five out of seven days. *mumble* My diet hasn't been the best, so that is what I have to blame, I guess. I know, weight fluctuates too - so maybe it's just the natural flux? Either way, I'm not nearly as excited as it seems I should be. I will, however, continue to walk every morning. At least while the kids need to walk to school.

You can also assume that in an exercise regime you will also be gaining muscle. Muscle is denser than fat, so you may need to pay attention much more to your overall feelings about your body and its shape, rather than focusing on the scale.

Contrary to Weight Watchers and such, the scale is not necessarily your friend--especially not with frequent weighings.

I'm trying to weigh in just once a week, to track where I am. I've only been walking 5 days - so I wasn't expecting a drastic change or anything, either.

Muscle Mass
You could be building up muscle mass. As you know muscle weights more, but the benefit is that it can also burn more energy will result in losing fat. Keep it up, it will payoff. The most important thing in any "diet" is to excercise, you can limit the calories all you want but you need to burn them off, and the only way to do it is with consant exercise.
